Cohen di Jakarta membantah bahwa serdadu GI Joe membantai warga Korea
di tahun 1950. Lho, kalau gitu para GI yang cerita itu pasti
semuanya kena penyakit tua sehingga pelupa. Mungkin mereka
melakukannya di Vietnam... Lho, emang kalau di Vietnam boleh?
Nggak tahu ah... Yang jelas saya merasa lucu karena disebutkan bahwa Cohen
menampilkan tough-unsmilling face waktu menekan Wiranto masalah Timtim,
sementara itu di waktu yg sama harus mengeluarkan statement bantahannya spt
di bawah ini. Pertanyaan kedua, apakah ada negara yang bakal menuntut AS
untuk ditarik ke mahkamah internasional? Soalnya saksi ada, yaitu para GI
sendiri dan para sisa-sisa korban yang selamat juga masih banyak.

U.S. Dismisses Korea War Massacre

JAKARTA (Reuters) - The United States Thursday
dismissed reports that American troops had massacred
unarmed civilians during the Korean War, saying the
allegations had already been investigated.
``I am not aware of any evidence that would substantiate
those claims,'' Defense Secretary William Cohen told
reporters during a trip to Indonesia.
He was reacting to news reports alleging that hundreds,
including many women and children, had been killed by the
U.S. military in a village south of Seoul in the early days
of the 1950-1953 war.
``This has been examined on several occasions in the past
and I am unaware that there is any information that would
corroborate or support it,'' Cohen said.
But he added that the government would be prepared to
look again at the issue if there was any substantive new
information.
Earlier, Pentagon spokesman Ken Bacon said that the
alleged incident had been investigated by both the U.S.
army and U.S. forces in South Korea.
