                      11/10/02 3:19PM

PATTAYA, Thailand (AP) - Indonesian teenager Angelique
Widjaja beat
                      South Korea's Cho Yoon-jeong 6-2, 6-4 Sunday to win
the Volvo
                      Women's Open.

The 17-year-old Widjaja, the 2001 Wimbledon junior
champion, earned
                      her second career title.

"I'm happy to win this tournament. I expected to reach
only the
quarterfinal," said Widjaja, ranked No. 91.

Cho, the first female South Korean to reach a WTA
final, was slowed by
a knee injury sustained at the beginning of the match.

"I couldn't move well and the condition got even worse
in the second
set. I could have played better if I was OK," Cho
said.

After breaking serve twice in the first set, Widjaja
overcame a 3-2 deficit
in the second set and clinched the win with her first
match point.
