My Fellow Perps-
And you know who you are. They're a-comin' atcha! The flies left my custody
today at 1345 hrs local time (1:45 PM, that is) and are on their way to the
first Perp on each list. At a time like this, I feel it is incumbent on me to
mark the occasion with a solemn declaration, "WOOOOO-HOO! Laissez les bon
temps roulez!" (if my High School French serves).
Just so's ya know. The fly boxes are not crammed full, I did this to allow
some room for growth and hopefully, they will. Many of the the flies, wets,
nymphs, soft hackles and the like are in plastic bags in a container seperate
from the big box. To make things a little easier I included a dozen small
plastic bags for bagging additional flies. Also in the box are a notebook for
comments, recipes, philosophical ramblings, and so on. It would be nice to see
signatures of all the Perps in there, too. There's also a mailing list for
each box, if you want a list let me know and I'll send it to you.
Sorry for what seemed like a good deal of confusion there at the end. I
hope everyone will enjoy the swap. All of us have put time and effort in to
it. My one worry is that over time people will start to lose concern for what
they return to the box, please remember, the ultimate goal is to have a number
of excellent flies to be auctioned off and the money to be used for a good
flyfishing related cause.
Thank you to all of you who joined in this swap. Hopefully this is just a
beginning. Thanks to all of you who included extra flies for your novice
swapmeister and for those who chipped in to help defray expenses, it is all
appreciated.
