First of all, thanks to Behdad Esfahbod <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> and
Roozbeh Pournader <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> for replying to my
question. I really appreciate your help! I've been struggling in the
dark for such a long time with these things...

When I type "heh"+Shift-N, I get a big box. However, if I click on
the corresponding keys on the On-Screen Keyboard, it works!

However, when I say "it works," I mean I get a big hamzeh (bigger than
the heh!) to the left, just a little raised in relation to the heh.

I would prefer to get the result that one gets with the Microsoft
keyboard's shift+z which gives "heh + hamzeh above" all in one character.
(Even that is not perfect as the hamzeh appears right over the heh and
would be better a little more over to the left but maybe this has to
do with pixel arrangement and can't be helped...I don't know.)

It is nice to have this combination (heh + hamzeh) all in one keystroke
as it is fairly common. Perhaps it is the fashion now to type a "heh"
followed by a "normal"-sized yeh but there are enough people wanting
to keep the "heh" + hamzeh above in use too. (That is one nice thing
about this Standard Keyboard for example that one can type numerals in
the Arabic/Persian style, otherwise if using the MS keyboard, it is
simply easier to go with Western-style numbers and the Arabic/Persian
will just fall out of use. Sorry for going on and on, I'm probably
just very confused about this heh + hamzeh issue!)

I don't know of any "standard" fonts. I have acquired the usual
Nazanin, Kamran, Roya, Jadid, Homa, Nasim, etc. They all seem to
behave in the same manner.

I often type my document (especially for web pages) in Arial MS
Unicode then SelectAll and view it with one of my Persian fonts.
It always happens that the "tah marbuta" will switch to "heh + hamzeh"
when viewed in a Persian font. I have been wondering how I'll
type a word that really needs a "tah marbuta" (like "haqiqatan" for ex.)

As you can see, I'm totally lost. Any help appreciated!
Thanks,
Connie
