Hello Everyone: It's been a week since the last thread about the FARSI HEH WITH HAMZA discussion. I must say that i have read very intersting points of views. I am very thankful for such an open forum where we can discuss our common IT interests/issues intelligently. I know at the beginning, Mr. Pournader had mentioned that he would summarize the discussion points, and even try to reach a consensus/decision. I know from my perspective, backward compatibility is very important. I am also wondering if the decision by the "experts", was based on perhaps guidlines from Farsi Linguists in Iran? I have been surfing various Farsi sites, such as Iranian newspapers, and have not seen anyone using the proposed format for HEH WITH HAMZA ABOVE (HEH + YEH). Maybe I am missing the whole point, and that's why I am sending this e-mail to get more educated on this subject. I don't consider myself an expert, and have not been published anywhere, however, I can see that if the IT standards are not consistent with the linguistic standards, we will always have to have these discussion as why the difference in the standards. It is important to respect the established standards, however, as with any other standard, REVISIONS to help make these standards more practical.
I have certainly benefited a lot from all of you, and hope to learn a lot more. Regards, Saeed. _______________________________________________ PersianComputing mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.sharif.edu/mailman/listinfo/persiancomputing
