http://students.washington.edu/irina/other_stuff/compare_naz.htm

Here's the URL of a comparison I made of the old [1983 ?!] Sinasoft
version and the new Borna version.

This is only for people with a lot of time because you'll have to remove
your own Nazanin font (if you have) and install mine. (Apparently there
are lots of Nazanin versions out there....)

If you'll recall, the new Naz now handles diacritics in non-IE browsers
and also can be embedded however, in exchange, it doesn't look as nice as
the old Nazanin on a web page (although it looks fine in a Word doc or
.pdf file, whether on screen or printed.)

How would someone who is good with fonts like to take a look? (Like,
someone besides Roozbeh who is overworked and generally over-exploited?!)

Either the old Nazanin has to have its settings changed to match the new
Nazanin or the New Nazanin has to have its "look" changed to match the old
Naz.

I have no clue how much work this is but thank you in advance if anyone is
willing/able to tackle this problem.

There's also a link on the page to a Weft test I successfully made last
month. (Of course, it's for IE only and you'll have to uninstall Nazanin
from your computer to appreciate.)

If anyone thinks I'm totally taking the wrong approach to this webfont
problem, speak up! I'm lost as to how to go about it.

Oh, by the way, if you really want to get depressed, check out BBC's Urdu
page. They are now making you download and install a font and after all
that trouble, it's not even a nice looking font! As if the headlines
weren't bad enough...
