Hi Folks!

Here are two useful patches that make make Apache accepts strftime-style log
names:

Examples:

ErrorLog "/path/to/%Y-%m-%d.error.log"
TransferLog "/path/to/%Y-%m-%d.access.log"

http://opensource.mco2.net/download/apache/patches/apache_access_log.patch
http://opensource.mco2.net/download/apache/patches/apache_error_log.patch

Using these patches, cronolog, rotatelogs or mod_log_rotate will be not
necessary anymore.

These patches were tested with Apache 2.2.22, but them should work with other
versions as well, since there were minimal changes.

Important: you'll need restart or reload Apache at 00:00AM to rotate logs,
because these patches only use strftime() once at startup.

Good Luck!
