Yes, Todd, WCM are attracted to dried insects. If anyone attended the meeting at Harvard a few months ago, I reported on it being a “stored food product” moth because it was infesting insect cuisine composed of crickets and mealworms. These were dried, flavored insects, the packaging had been opened and in plastic bins (not air tight). Also the moth was infesting a culture of mealworms and feeding on dried bodies of the insects. The origin of the moth species was originally from vertebrate specimens – dried mouse carcasses in forgotten traps and from lost mice that had died from anticoagulant baits. Lou
