Hi Tatjana We've recently been involved in a 'whole of house' treatment here in Australia, where both heat and low oxygen were used. The house, Woodford Academy (http://www.nationaltrust.org.au/nsw/woodford-academy), and a large part of the collection were infested with borers (Anobium) and silverfish. First a large number of paper-based and textile items were removed from the house for treatment with freezing and stored off-site while the other treatments were being undertaken. Next the house was treated with dry heat by Precision Pest Control ( http://www.precisionpestcontrol.com.au/). They treated the house and outbuildings in stages, moving from one section of the house to another. Once they had completed treatment in one section of the building we set up a large low oxygen bubble to treat the furniture and artefacts that we thought might be damaged by heat or freezing (the bubble was flushed with nitrogen to 0.3% oxygen). The entire project took around four weeks to complete (Note: the freezing of items was carried out several weeks before the other treatments).
