Hi Julie,

for me, it looks like a “weevil”.  Normally in contact with wet wood?
Where have you found it? Close to a structure with moisture problems, maybe.

Hello, Pestlist

We would greatly appreciate some help identifying this beetle. To me it looks 
wood boring (powderpost/false powderpost?) and we are quite concerned. Help 
with ID will be much appreciated. It is 4mm long.
