Hello All,
The gift shop in my museum recently opened an inventory cabinet to find some
polar bear fur items covered in these moths. They look like Webbing Clothes
Moths to me but I am hoping I’m wrong - any help? There seem to be small white
eggs all over the fur parts, there was at least one larva and many adults, I am
attaching photos of each, some eggs can be seen in moth2.JPG. I am already
bagging and freezing all the fur/leather/textile objects in the store but am
hoping to nail down a species so I can purchase pheromone traps.
On the plus side, the store seems much more willing to comply with my
recommendation to let me freeze incoming items now…
Thanks in advance!
Emily
