Chris,

I haven’t seen any more posts about the “ant” picture, so I apologize if it’s
already been properly ID’d. I checked with a bee specialist in my program, and
it is likely a soil-nesting bee in the Halictidae family. The wetness of the
bee makes it hard to ID because of how it affects the body hairs. But given
you’d place the trap outdoors, I’d say this catch is nothing to worry about.

Subject: [pestlist] Pest ID

I could use some help identifying these insects. I suspect the ant is a
carpenter ant, I placed the trap near a damaged piece of wood outdoors. It's
wet so the wings are plastered down against its body and it's 9 mm long. The
beetle was found in a storage area, dead. I used the wrong side of the ruler in
the photo, it's 8 mm long.
