Hi Stephan,

Yes, sorry – it is not much easier with the actual bug! I found it in a
disused gallery by the door to the Tudor part of the Museum – all wooden
construction with remains of wooden display cases (modern soft wood).

There were two on the trap, both quite dried up and disintegrated.

No sign of any exit holes, no signs of any frass near the find spot. Second
trap at the back of the room empty.

All best

Subject: [PestList] AW: Furniture beetle?

Hi Pernille,

very difficult to say, with these photos ;-/ The color and body/head-shape
looks like F.B.
Where have you found it? Building, Room, Wood, Climate?

Best, Stephan

Betreff: [PestList] Furniture beetle?

Hello,

This is an ‘old catch’ and slightly disintegrated as I have not had access to
the museum to do the traps due to Covid-19 for a while. I am finding it hard
to identify. It looks to me like a furniture beetle – can you confirm? It is
6mm long, dark brown with a hit of a slight patterning on the wings. No
pronounced head. Legs all tucked up and not visible.

Apologies for the poor photos.

Many thanks for your help.

Best regards

Pernille
