You might contact ornithologist Carla Dove Phd at the Smithsonian National
Museum of Natural History who is a specialist in aircraft bird strikes. She may
have contacts in the industry with alternative suggestions.

Subject: Re: [PestList] Bird scarers

Our museum is located right beside an active airport for small aircraft - and
they also have a problem with seagulls and geese - especially during
migration. They use acoustic scarers to deter birds - but instead of high
frequency they use lower frequency "booms" - might not be super practical for
central London - but the Aviation Industry might have some good leads on
deterring birds.

Hi folks

Since Covid, we are having serious problems with seagulls and pigeons settling
on the Great Court glass roof (see image of aerial view) and making a hell of a
mess. It has been suggested that the birds see it as a ‘lake’ and we have never
had success with things like shock systems or brining a hawk around the site

Our pest control company has recommended high frequency acoustic scarers

I don’t have any experience of them so have any of you used them and is it
worth the investment?

Many thanks

Adie
