Thanks Dan and Stephan, that's very interesting. My inclination was also that it was a tick, but I thought it seemed so unlikely because the sticky trap is not located near an exterior door or any known gaps. That being said, this is a very old building and all of my attempts at sealing every nook and cranny is never ending.
