Lex,

I can’t identify the species, but that looks like an earwig.

Subject: [PestList] Very ancient Bug

Hello dear people of the Pestlist group,

During the restoration and dismantling of a 19th century Japanese folding
screen we found a bug in between the inner paper lining. We suspect this bug
lived in Japan during the construction of this folding screen around the year
1830. Maybe it is so old that this species is extinct nowadays? Can somebody
identify this bug for us?
Thank you in advance,

Lex
