Interesting- thanks for the feedback! All the pics online of Indian Meal moths seem to show a noticeable 50/50 dark/light color division on the wings. This one was a relatively uniform tan- I think the lighting/camera maybe doesn't really show accurate color. I actually thought it was a casemaking or brown dotted clothes moth at a distance.
I wonder if some Indian Meal moths have a more "uniform tan" coloration for some reason? Thanks again 👍 On Thu, Jun 30, 2022 at 3:30 PM 'Thomas Parker' via MuseumPests < [email protected]> wrote: > Agree. > Tom Parker > > On Jun 30, 2022, at 4:24 PM, Dan Wixted <[email protected]> wrote: > > > > Looks like an Indian meal moth to me. > > > > Dan Wixted > > *Extension Support Specialist* > > > > *Cornell Cooperative Extension* > > *Pesticide Safety Education Program* > > 135 CALS Surge Facility > > 525 Tower Road > > Ithaca, NY 14850 > > psep.cce.cornell.edu > > [email protected] > > 607-255-7525 > > > > *Cornell Cooperative Extension is an equal opportunity, affirmative action > educator and employer* > > > > *From:* [email protected] <[email protected]> *On Behalf > Of *Todd Holmberg > *Sent:* Thursday, June 30, 2022 4:00 PM > *To:* [email protected] > *Subject:* [PestList] Mystery Moth > > > > Hello Group- > > > > While checking moth traps today, I saw a small tan moth and I thought it > was a webbing clothes moth.
