Hello,
Seeing how much the appearance in silverfish alters with drying, I would
definitely go for Gretchen’s advice if the purpose is keeping it for later ID
reference.
Has anyone on the Pestlist tried epoxy resin encasing for preserving
silverfish? I wonder if they can be casted fresh without changing over time
once encased. It would be great if someone has experience they could share on
this!

Hi Christina,
The easiest way to preserve them would be to place them in a small vial and
fill the vial with 70% alcohol (Ethanol or Isopropyl), then seal the vial.

Hello everyone,
My name is Cristina Rufino and I work at the Science Museum, University of
Coimbra, Portugal (Zoology Collections).
I need help to identify one silverfish from my pest monitoring program at the
museum where I work.
Normally I capture them dead and in a bad shape and this time it is alive and
maybe it can be IS to species level.
Yesterday I caught 2 alive, here is a picture of one of them, in attachment.
What's the best way to preserve them to further id, keep them dry, or they can
be preserved in alcohol?
