Hi everyone,
I found the moth in the attached photos and am wondering about help with an ID.
We currently have a webbing clothes moth infestation, cut this one has some
spots that those don’t. And I haven’t seen the long antennae on the webbong
moths.

Julie,
if the furniture does not have holes for wood-destroying insects (1-2mm of
furniture beetles), the pile can also be the grub of dermestid larvae that have
eaten another insect. That could look like frass of Anobium punctatum, but
identify with a binocular.

Hi everyone,
Was hoping to get some help identifying a collection of frass we found while
deep cleaning a room in our historic house. The pile was found under a wooden
desk with another trail alongside a reproduction rug in the same vicinity (rug
is most likely wool, possibly a synthetic blend).
The larvae casings were found mostly within the moth body.
The lens pictured is 3.5” diameter for size reference.
Any and all information is greatly appreciated!
