Jessica - As a consultant to the pest management industry for over 40 years, I can heartedly recommend Termidor. The advantage of Termidor over other termiticides is it does not kill the termites quickly. It allows the worker termites to spread it throughout their network allowing those which were far away from the initial treatment zone to be killed. For instance, picture a huge ballroom of a mansion with a large fireplace on one of the long walls. For years (over 20 in fact), another pest control firm was unsuccessful in stemming the tide of termites. They made their way up the outside walls to major support beams spanning the ballroom. I was called in to investigate. I worked with a local firm to drill and treat the soil beneath the hearth and fireplace floor. Magically two weeks later piles of dead termites were raining down from the overhead beams. Problem eliminated. Tom ParkerEntomologist

This is the first time (in decades) that we've had a swarm. Our exterminator suggests using Phantom insecticide around the exterior perimeter of the historic house vs. using Termidor. Is one preferred over the other? Is Phantom okay to use on the exterior? Any feedback is much appreciated! Thanks!Jessica PearlCollections ManagerRaynham Hall Museum -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MuseumPests" group.
