Hi Margaret,
The methods for both low temperature temperature and heat treatment are well
described on the Museum Pests Network web site.
https://museumpests.net/solutions/ . Either method would work for the
situation you describe, if you follow the instructions.

In addition to treating the books, you will need to do a through cleaning of
the space to eliminate any additional eggs, larva and adults. Also, you should
continue to monitor, to make sure that you have dealt with the infestation.

Please feel free to reach out if you need more information.

Good luck,

Subject: [PestList] Drugstore beetle infested book treatment?

CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization. Do not click

Hello all,

I am looking for advice on how to mitigate a drugstore beetle infestation. I
have attached images of the beetle and larvae that we found in a volume of
books. Does anyone have any advice on freezing protocols/parameters or other
methods to treat the infested objects?

Thanks in advance!

All best,
Margaret Canfield
