Looks like a type of sweat be or horse fly. Occasional invader pest. A local
extension agent would probably know immediately. JTV

Marcelo,
The images creature is a sweat bee, likely a member of the family Halictidae.
They may have entered via an open door or window, or in the soil of potted
plants.
What to do? Smile. They pose no risk to people, the building, or the contents.
They're not museum pests. There's no need to do anything other than remove
their carcasses once they perish.

God morning All,
I was informed by my team members that they had been seeing several small flies
or bees in our largest gallery which is currently hosting an exhibit which came
to us from Tacoma, Washington. However, as we unpacked and installed over the
last month, we did not notice any of these insects in the packaging or on the
artworks.
My team mentioned that they were flying up into the ceiling where it is covered
by a panel and hollow on the other side
Here are some images of the fly/bee. If anyone has any insight as to what this
may be and what our next course of action should be, it would be greatly
appreciated.
