Hi Heather,

I recently tried to use some scorpion barrier tape in my building near a
doorway as an alternative to multiple glue traps. It was definitely effective
but was difficult to remove/replace for monitoring and left a residue on the
floor that attracted other dust and grime. When removing it from the floor it
would frequently flip insects off the trap, even when I was careful to remove
the tape slowly. I ended up switching to the Catchmaster 72XL glue boards for
the threshold and use two traps to cover the length.

I do like Gretchen's idea of using mylar tape for displays - that may be a
useful solution to prevent residue on the floor from double-stick tape.

Here is the brand of tape I used during my experiment:
[Scorpion Master Barrier Tape 900229 - The Home Depot]

Hi all,

I was reading this Article (https://museumsschaedlinge.de/klebebaender/) and
wondered if anyone has tried this. How well did this work? Did it cause any
problems with collection staff, and what adhesive tape did you use? I think
this would be a great idea to put in our loading doc area if it works well.
