Hi Amy, Pheromone traps attract only males. Also remember that both style of traps (pheromone or plain sticky traps) are meant as monitors. To get rid of the infestation you will need to figure out where the infestation is, where it is centered and mitigate from there. The traps from InsectLimited are coated with a Japanese drugstore beetle pheromone, which, according to my colleague Pascal Querner from Austria, is supposed to be good. If you only use simple sticky traps, the probability of catching beetles running around is lower. This depends greatly on the infestation (few or many beetles). If you place the sticky traps on the windowsill, you will catch the beetles that like to run or fly toward the light. You get the same effect when you use UV traps, which are also very good for catching and detecting drugstore beetles in dark rooms.
