The d6 photo is definitely from subterranean termite workers. No longer
active.

Hello Pest Friends!
We’ve recently treated a book with extensive insect damage, which involved a
great deal of frass removal. The damage was throughout the textblock (laid
paper) and occurred in the distant past, well before the book came into the
institution.
Would anyone here be able to help us identify the species of insect that
produced the frass? There seemed to be two consistencies of frass present:
one a cakey yellowish material, and the other a darker, denser accretion.
Could these be from two different types of insects? I’ve attached some
pictures for your, um, enjoyment.
