Hello, My name is Katie Fisher and I’m a conservation student at Fleming College in Canada. I’m currently interning at Historic Royal Palaces in London, England and am writing a report on the introduction of new pest species due to changing weather patterns. I’m concentrating particularly on the increased prevalence of the Guernsey carpet beetle A sarnicus, and the vodka beetle A smirnovi in Southern England. However, I am also interested in any accounts of new species being found in Canada. I would be very grateful if anyone has any references or input on the subject. I’ve read David Pinniger’s “New pests for old” and am aware of the Attagenus smirnovi Project (and looking forward to the results!).
