hi all,

I confirm larvea can develop in the dust under false floor. Larveas feed on
hair. i have the same contamination in my institution.

And the first infestation lead a second infestation by a dermestres.
Besides, I find a contamination by clothe moth in a instrumental music
(djebe)with skin which contained hair.

Hi Molly,

I should make it clear that my moth problem is not in the collection but in the
fabric of the building ( as far as I can deduce) I think the moths are living
under the floors (it's an old building with gaps between boards and so stuff
falls down there)

This is interesting, however, I'm wondering how many instances there are of
collections becoming infested by clothes moth larvae while on display? I guess
I've never heard of that, but I'd be interested to know if this is a frequent
occurrence and a problem. We generally don't let the public in storage areas,
and, in my limited experience, that is where the majority of these infestations
occur.

best,
Molly
