This came through the herbarium listserv, so sorry for the cross posting.

This might be a stretch for many of you but if anyone has advice for the
contact from the Bogor Herbarium it would be much appreciated. Please feel free
to respond directly to Elizabeth Widjaja, I will pass along anything that comes
through the list.

Thanks
Genevieve

Subject: [HERBARIA] fumigation for tropical country

Dear all,
We are having problem in our herbarium (the Herbarium Bogoriense) which now
based in Cibinong, Bogor. We have moved from the Bogor city to the Bogor
subdistrict few years ago. Since we move to the new building we did not make
any fumigation. The reason is the old chemical used in previous fumigation make
the walls spotted and dark (it should be white before the fumigation). Beside
that we have to close all the electricity equipment including light and switch
also. I am writing this to get an information especially from the tropical
herbaria which chemical is safe for environment, to fumigate the specimens? We
also do refrigerate the specimens, but for several families this effort do not
work well. When you give us the chemical name (in trade), please provide also
the place where we can buy those chemical.
I am looking forward to hear from you, we really need urgently to keep our
specimens not getting worse.
Best wishes,
Elizabeth A. Widjaja
