I've got one app completed, Collection Pests Reference. I submitted it to the Apple App Store. It was technically OK but not accepted to be in the app store because they don't think the market size is large enough. It's a free app. So it means Apple won't make any money off of it so they don't want to list it. They don't say how big "big enough" is. What I can do is re-write it as an HTML5 app - that means it becomes a web page instead of being an app. (HTML5 is a specification for the coding used to create the web page as well as the browser. Most browsers in use support it.) This should work OK, HTML5 spec says it should be able to be cached so it can be used in places without internet connectivity. I'll announce when it's available. I've also been in contact with Christina Cain from the University of Colorado Museum and she has given permission for her Id cards to be put in an app. I've got that completed and am testing it now. It should be in the Android Market next week and of course I'll have to do it in HTML5 for the iPhone/iPad/iPod's. I think the Flash Cards we have listed on the Museumpests.net site by Sir Sanford Fleming College students would be a great resource to have available and a perfect fit for the Smartphone/pad format. If someone has a contact there that I could connect with that would be helpful. Also we're open to any app ideas.
