Best regards Reiner Pospischil -----Original-Nachricht----- Betreff: [pestlist] RE: Beetle identification help Datum: Wed, 29 Jan 2014 14:54:03 +0100 Von: "Lundberg, Holly" <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> An: "[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>" <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> This is a message from the Museumpests List. They range in size from 3 – 4 mm in length. The pictures aren’t the best, but I’m hoping someone can help with the identification. In terms of the beetle themselves, They are an orangey-brown color, and of a type where the heads are not visible from above. Under magnification, I can see that the head, protonum and elytra are hairy. The elytra have longitudinal rows of pits. The antennae are very long and appear to be filiform? I counted 11 segments. The hair seems to have some lighter coloring (whitish across the elytra and also in ( ) shape at center of the protonum. The ( ) shaped area on the protonum appear to be ridge like, and a very slight conical shaped area protrusion can be seen on each side of this area visible but blurry in pic 3.. Any ideas?
