I am quite sure, that Tony and Louis were right that these insects are thrips (Thysanoptera). Because I found something that could be feeding tracks (see second picture) I am not sure what to do. I would clean the frame, the aquarelle and the passe-partout. Should I also treat the object with nitrogen? What would you recommend?? If possible, get a close-up image of the critter. It will also help if you can give us an idea of the scale? Measure it if possible. Sorry that I cannot be of more help at this point.
