Hi All

I have recently dumped various folders from four computers to my server in order to try and end up with a single set of files to work from.

There are a lot of duplicate files, some of which have been edited at a later date to others so contain differences.

Is there a command line tool/script that I can create which will recursively trawl the folders, pick out the latest versions of duplicated files and then copy those files to a new folder.

I was thinking that sed or awk may help but don’t know where (apart from # ! /bin/bash that is) J

Any suggestions.

Stu
