Stuart,
I'd appreciate that. Is it like a broadband modem in that all the info is on
the modem, not the pc? This usb modem/linux thing is pretty deep.
I'm stuggling on a stand alone rig at the moment, not being able to download
codecs and the like, so my tinkering has stopped.
Anyway, let me know when the next meeting is and I'll try and get along,
Al

Hi Al,

I have zero knowledge about usb modems (or indeed pci modems in
general) so cannot help with getting them working...

...however I do have an old (still working) USRobotics serial modem (gotta
love hardware modems ;-) )that you can have if you want. It maybe just the
thing to get you onto the internet - although it will restricted you to the
speed of 56k modem.

I can bring it with me to the next meeting if you want?

Regards

Stuart
