Hi All

Did we decide that the next meeting will be at the rugby club?

If so, I will update the web site accordingly.

While I am on, is there any feature that anyone would like to particularly
see on the web site. Just shout up with some suggestions and I will see what
I can do.

As graphics is not my strongpoint and this is a community group I would like
to suggest that the membership have a crack at designing a new PLUG logo. So
get out your gimps and post up some images so that we can have a vote on
which one like.

As the history page has not been updated since 2002 I intend to clear it out
and start again from the next meeting - does anyone object to this?

I also want to update the library entries so let me know what distro's you
have available for sharing and I create the list.

Any and all ideas are welcome so don't be shy!

Stu

Guys,

Sorry about the mess up with getting you Internet access - I had to be
elsewhere on the night and so did our General Manager.

Hope to get to meet you next time. Let's work on getting you a quieter area
next time.

Paul Gardner
Secretary (& webmaster)
Peterborough RUFC.

Ok, for those of you who couldn't make it.

A few of us managed to meet at the Peterborough Rugby Club, and
although we failed to meet up with the General Manager and so did not
have access to the internet, the general consensus was that it would
be a good place to move the club meetings to.

This is subject to a few points, these include cost (I know that the
use of the facilities was offered free, but if it became a regular
thing would there be a charge involved) and if there was a quieter
place to hold the meetings than the bar (funny how I always end up at
the bar).

It was decided that there was a lot of things that we could be doing,
and a lot of things that we should be doing, as a LUG but that to
start with we need to get the website revamped.

To this effect Stuart Bird has taken over the managing of the
Peterborough LUG website and no doubt we keep everyone informed of any
changes likely to happen.

One idea that was discussed was whether it was possible to connect the
PLUG mailing list with a forum, and that is why there are a few recent
posts about the relevant software to do this on the mailing list. I
for one would like a forum to be added to the website but this will
depend on the feasibility of linking the mailing list to a forum.

Tony mentioned getting people using IRC and again you can see a recent
post on the mailing list giving details of a server and group to join,
I have managed to connect using the instructions posted so it
therefore stands to reason that its really easy.

I may have missed out bits from the meeting, in fact I'm pretty sire
I've missed out lots. So if anyone wants to fill in the details please
feel free.

Regards

Stuart
