My understanding is that the upgrade path is just between consecutive
major versions, so you'd do 6.06 -> 6.10 then 6.10 -> 7.04.

Don't forget that 6.06 is the LTS (Long Term Support) version and
upgrading will lose that.

My understanding is that a dist-upgrade from 7.04 beta will upgrade to
7.04 automatically, but I'd like confirmation.
