What does @HOSTNAME@ mean in a shell script? Is it shell dependant? (The
script uses /bin/sh).

If it helps I'm looking at the file support-files/mysql.server.sh from
the MySQL source tarball, so maybe it's supposed to have gone through a
build process before I use it?

[What I'm trying to do is adapt mysql.server.sh for use on Ubuntu, since
Ubuntu and other Debian derivatives use their own MySQL start script
which does not do what I want. I don't have a spare machine around on
which I could build and install MySQL from source to find out what it
would leave me with.]
