Stu When you save the config, it saves it as .config by default (if I remember correctly - I'm pretty sure that it always looks for this file). Just save your configuration once you have everything setup correctly. Also, when you copy your new kernel over to the /boot diretory, copy the .config file over but in the format that follows the version of the kernel and without the '.'
