Hi Mark, Thanks for the reply. The drive appears to do something if i hold
it I can feel it Vibrating . If the Bios battery has gone flat could it
cause this type of problem Ok on the leads I will find somewhere where i can
buy another double one.

I doubt that the BIOS chip has failed if it will start up, but I don't
know what to suggest. Most likely thing from your symptoms is that you
dislodged the cables into the motherboard from the hard disk whilst
changing the fan (or that they were already loose and got looser with
the work being done inside the case). So double check those before you
give up. (Also check the power cables.)
