When I first installed Google Earth in Feisty I had the same problem, but fixed it by installing the ATI restricted drivers (I also use a RagePro 9800 card). It then ran perfectly. I did the same thing after upgrading to Gutsy, but found that Google Earth will not run at all now, neither can I get the 3D cube desktop working.

Regards,

Dave

Sorry to change the subject slighly I'm just intrugued and reminded - you
mention google-earth not running right, I am still on 7.04 (feisty) and
although my 3D cube destop effects run smoother than a baby's bottom,
Google-earth always seems choppy and slow, even with the graphics set to
"safe mode". Im running an ATI Rage Pro 256Mb Grapics Card so theres no
rhyme or reason as to why google earth is running like a dog. Any ideas?
