Has anyone ever reinstalled the firmware in a scanner? My Epson Perfection 1670 got completely trashed because of a bug in the 7.04 version of Ubuntu. The Epson install disk (which I think has a copy of the firmware on it somewhere) only runs under Windows, so that's no good. I'm told that I can download a current version from the Epson site, but there seems to be no information available about how to load it onto the scanner using Linux. Any ideas would be appreciated.
