If you like listening to streaming media, "Listen again" on the radio etc then http://www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers/2867_4120.htm may be of interest. It is an "Internet Radio" ie a wifi connected embedded Linux device that plays Real and Windows media player streams.

The technology is British, see www.reciva.com , and could be provided with a wired ethernet connection (the reference design is) but the several models in retail land are all mains powered and wifi connected, so a bit less flexible than could be the case.

Looking for a christmas gift ? How about a Linux laptop for £220
http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/Asus_EeePC701_EeePC701/version.asp
many retailers have no stock after it was released last week - demand is being demonstrated !

Solid state 4GB flash drive with customised Xandros OS that can be set to look familiar to Windows or Mac users.
