Some time ago I noticed (Ubuntu 7.10) that although Alt-Tab switched windows as expected, Shift-Alt-Tab did not switch windows in reverse.

For ages I've been meaning to work out why, and last night I got around to it. I found the solution here:
   http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-580116.html

.. which is basically to run gconf-editor from the commandline, go to
   /apps/metacity/global_keybindings/switch_windows_backward
.. and set it to "<Alt><Shift>Tab"

Dunno if anyone else needs this, but since there's a lot of Ubuntu users here and both my home and work desktops needed this there's a fair chance someone else is affected.
