Hi Edward - thanks for this link. I've been wondering what to do about webauthoring since I switched to Linux and discovered to my disappointment and disgust that HTML Kit doesn't come in any flavours for Linux; I'd have to run it through Wine (and I haven't yet got the hang of that, though I've managed to install it)...
I was contemplating having to code everything by hand again!

Denise the newbie aka ariadne, who has been lurking in here for several months now

PS - to the group - I am gonna make it to one of those monthly meetings soon, honest!

Dave,

I am currently using CMS Made simple - http://www.cmsmadesimple.org/

I have found it to be simple and straightforward! I even managed to install it on a Ubuntu VM, and if I can do it anyone can!

I am sure it has some weaknesses, and it can be a tad slow on occasions - I am hosting it on 34sp.com, but it is relatively easy to understand the basics and there seem to be a range of add-ons that I have not explored yet

Hope that helps

Ed

Great new site. Thanks to all those who put the effort in to producing it.

I notice that it's built using Drupal, which appears to be a Joomla derivative. Is Droopal any easier to set up and administer than Joomla itself? I've been experimenting with Joomla for some time now and have a need to create a new site for a local club who want to be able to manage content themselves. Joomla is OK, but it would take some time to get non-technical people up to speed with content management, uploading photos and graphics, etc., so I'm hoping to find something that is more intuative.

Dave
