Re the, "access that through Google", comment: I actually know someone
who DOES access everything through Google. Even when they have a URL!
at least part of this is that the active cursor gets plonked in the
search box when Google is the home page, so if someone opens a browser
and starts typing it will automatically go into the search box.
I've explained things to them a few times, but they just look puzzled
and go back to Google again. If it works, don't knock it.
why take two steps to get to a page when one will do :-)
I'm not certain Google will always throw up the page either, in fact it
won't if it isn't indexed. So it doesn't work, and I'm knocking it !
This may explain why when I ask people to go to a certain page over the
phone they say they can't get to it - they're probably searching for it
instead of going to the address. More dumbing down.
