While it's probably acceptable in the context that 'everyone does it', at the same time it's not going to win him any fans considering the recent history. Providing his posts are on topic with the genuine intention of being part of the community then I've no issue either, but the cynical minds may have thought initially it was a post designed to get accepted, with his signature being the payload.
