I will check the system monitor on Monday. Thanks Phil

It may also be worth monitoring the resources on a client.....

If you press Ctrl/Alt/F1 you get an LTSP login. We created a password for the root account on the PLUG visit to diagnose the graphics issue, so if you log in with that you have access to the command line of the client machine (rather than the host via a client window).

From there I could see (via 'free' on the command line) that 122M of RAM is in use of the 192M present (I added 128 to the original 64M).

You can flip between the client CLI and the Edubuntu graphical client with Ctrl/Alt/F7 for the latter and Ctrl/Alt/F1 for the former.

The free RAM declined along the following lines :

71M with Edubuntu login prompt on screen
68M logged in
56M Firefox open with 4 active tabs
53M Firefox + OpenOffice Writer + Kalzium

HTH
