Maemo is dead. Nokia and Intel merged their two product Maemo and Moblin to
Create Meego. I wouldn't bet on and Maemo products for now until Nokia
announce firm news regarding their futures. There have been unconfirmed
reports that Meego will be ported to the N900. 

 

Having given you that warning, Maemo is indeed a full arm (I think the CPU
is Arm) port of debian and from what I've heard about it it is fantastic and
the N900 is a very capable little device. It was reviewed on a past episode
of Linux Outlaws (podcast)

hey hello

anyone come across nokia n900?  i have given it a try and its even got
terminal .. maemo is based on debian and apparently can run any debian
application

wud this replace my wannabe linux laptop (btw i still havnt been able to run
DSL .. but other distros work aaah!)

shud i go for maemo?
