Hi all, I would like to propose the following agenda for the meeting today. If you believe it needs some tweaks please let the meeting know at the start. It can also act as a starting point for the agenda for future meetings. I would like to think that over time, based on experience, we can settle on a format that meets the meeting's objectives.
Tyler has offered to be on hand to answer any queries regarding the HackSpace. Tea and Coffee making facilities are avaiable so please bring your favourite mug and beverage. I will ensure there is milk and sugar available. 1. First Meeting Only --------------------- All - Introductions. Each member please introduce themselves and perhaps provide a little information about their Linux interests and experience. In the future this would just apply to new members. Clive - H&S Presentation. In future this need only apply to new members and will be performed prior to them attending their first meeting. However, any changes to the presentation will be communicated to the whole group. Clive - Present available facilities. All - Agree the following setup activities (a simple vote to decide if necessary): a) Preferred meeting day and frequency. b) Cloud space for code snippets, LUG files, etc. I will present a DropBox space I have setup. 2. Planning - Future Meeting Main Themes ----------------------------------------- Agree themes for future meeting and key presenter(s) if appropriate. a) It would be good if members could come to the meeting with ideas for future themes to be discussed based on projects they have been involved with and skills and experience they have that they can pass on. b) Similarly, it would be good if members could list any Linux topics or specific issues that they are particularly interested in or would appreciate some help with, and we all have those. This will help ensure the themes are relevant and interesting to the maximum number of members. 3. Main Theme: OpenSuse and Samba Servers ----------------------------------------- Nigel Law - Give some details of his project's aims and objectives and drivers. Describe his progress to date and anything the group might help with in terms of overall advice or resolution of specific issues. Clive - To provide details of his OpenSuse and Samba configurations and experiences. All - to add their experiences as appropriate and any suggestions for resolving specific issues identified. 4. Updates on Projects Discussed at Previous Meetings ----------------------------------------------------- Project owner - applies to future meetings only. 5. Linux Trends and New Information ----------------------------------- All - An update on new Linux trends and new or updated Open Source software. Perhaps members subscribing to Linux Format and/or Linux Magazine could take a lead here (offers?). 6. Wash-up ---------- Collate comments on the meeting, meeting space, etc. and identify any changes needed. Confirm the date and primary theme for the next meeting. Close. I hope this is Ok.
