Full Professor (Chair) Business Process Management (1.0) (V39.393)
at The subdepartment Information Systems (IS), Department of Technology Management.

The Department of Technology Management offers a BSc in Industrial Engineering and Management Science (Technische Bedrijfskunde), a BSc in Innovation Sciences (Technische Innovatiewetenschappen), a BSc in Industrial Engineering for Health Care and MSc programmes in Innovation Management, Operations Management and Logistics, Technology and Policy, and Human Technology Interaction. Education and research in the department focus on the development and use of technology in a business and society-oriented context. Research is design and application oriented, based on fundamental scientific insights and methods.

The subdepartment Information Systems (IS) of the Department of Technology Management focuses its research and education on business information systems, specializing in business process management and enterprise modeling.

In the BPM group, process and enterprise modeling concentrates on semi-formal techniques and methods, bridging formal models, quantitative models and qualitative, informal models. Relevant topics in the BPM area are Business Process Models and Enterprise Models, with applications in workflow management systems, ERP systems and e-business systems.

Important application domains are industrial supply chains (e.g. petrochemical industry), transport and logistics (e.g. harbors), and services industries (e.g. banking and insurance and healthcare).


Tasks:
As Full Professor (Chair) Business Process Management (1.0) you will fulfill the following activities:

    * lead the BPM group (currently 5 staff positions and 7 PhD students);
    * set up and manage research and acquire external funding;
    * contribute to curriculum and course development;
    * teach courses in the BPM field at BSc and MSc levels;
    * contribute to the management of the IS subdepartment.

Requirements:
We are looking for a candidate who meets the following requirements:
The chair is expected to set up research that fits well in the research themes of the subdepartment IS.

    * Candidates have a PhD in Information Science in a field that has a strong affinity with this chair.
    * Candidates have an i nternational strong scientific reputation as a researcher, substantiated by a publication list including both high-quality, international journals and conferences in the research area outlined above.

    * Candidates have an acknowledgeable adequate experience in teaching IS-related courses at both BSc and MSc level.
    * Candidates have an adequate experience in managing research activities (in academic or industrial research contexts).

    * Candidates have a successful past performance in obtaining external financed research projects (2nd and 3rd flow-of-funds projects);

    * Candidates have an excellent mastering of the English language, both in speaking and writing; mastering of the Dutch language is a pro, but not a strict requirement.


Appointment and Salary
We offer:

    * a challenging job in a dynamic and ambitious University;
    * tenured position as full professor;
    * gross monthly salaries are in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement of the Dutch Universities (CAO NU) and are minimally € 4,542.- and maximally € 8,006.-. (professor salary scales Dutch Universities). Salary will be based on knowledge and experience.
