CALL FOR PAPERS

ACM SIGMETRICS 2008
International Conference on Measurement and Modeling of Computer Systems
June 2-6, 2008, Annapolis, Maryland, USA
http://www.cs.columbia.edu/~sigmet08/

The ACM SIGMETRICS conference solicits papers on the development and
application of state-of-the-art, broadly applicable analytic,
simulation, and measurement-based performance evaluation techniques. Of
particular interest is work that furthers the state-of-the-art in
performance evaluation methods, or work that creatively apply previously
developed methods to understand or to gain important insights into key
design trade-offs in computer or network systems. Topics of interest
include, but are not limited to:

* Performance-oriented design and evaluation studies of: computer
networks, Internet servers, computer architectures, database systems,
operating systems, distributed systems, multimedia systems, file and
storage systems, memory systems, language and runtime systems, real-time
systems, sensor networks, mobile devices and wireless networks,
security, and fault-tolerant systems.

* Performance methodology techniques and algorithms for: analytic
modeling, system measurement and monitoring, model verification and
validation, workload characterization, simulation, statistical analysis,
stochastic modeling, experimental design, reliability analysis,
performance optimization and hybrid models.

In addition to its traditional focus, we particularly encourage
submissions focusing on implementation and experimental issues.
